Our brief was to design a loft conversion which would include one extra bedroom with en-suite, to this 3-bedroomed semi-detached house.

We didn’t have to create a side dormer for staircase access, as the existing is roof is already gable ended, making it very suitable for a loft conversion. We situated the new staircase to the loft over the original staircase, reducing the amount of non usable space. To achieve the required head room in the new bedroom and en-suite we created two rear pitched dormers, which would also provide enough natural light to the loft conversion.
